Helix and Gravity lighting the HKIA Community Building, Hong Kong

The HKIA Community Building provides a recreational space for staff at Hong Kong International Airport. In order to create an attractive, people-focused environment, Aedas and Aedars Interiors developed the architecture for a complete range of entertainment installations.
The project engineers conducted an exhaustive lighting study based on strong quality requirements. Their goal was to provide functional lighting for the installations while also highlighting the aesthetic value of various assets.
The ground staff cafeteria is one of the building’s most outstanding spaces, with a capacity for 500 people and offering some stunning views of the Sky Bridge and airport platform.
To light this spectacular space, the GRAVITY and HELIX suspended luminaires from ROVASI were chosen to provide efficient overall lighting capable of creating a warm and cosy atmosphere.
The HELIX luminaires include a suspended 350 mm diameter reflective aluminium shade. For this project, they were supplied in the RAL9006 White Aluminium finish.
The GRAVITY luminaires are suspended lamps with an aluminium body and an aluminium reflector available in various opening angles. Their elegant cylindrical design means they fit perfectly in any space. For this project, they were supplied in the RAL9005 Dark Black finish.
All the luminaires were supplied with an adjustable and controllable DALI 2 driver, and COB 4000K and CRI90 modules to guarantee optimal light quality.
