ROVASI lights up the renewed Kandinsky College in Nijmegen

The Kandinsky College in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, has undergone a major renovation and extension, transforming an outdated school building into a bright, spacious and future-oriented learning environment.

The project is based on a clear architectural and interior design vision: creating connections between old and new, between inside and outside, and above all between students. The new transparent entrance, the open aula and the fresh, welcoming interiors bring light, clarity and a renewed sense of identity to the school, supporting wellbeing, inclusion and interaction among students and teachers.

ROVASI supplied different types of luminaires for the project, contributing to the visual comfort and architectural integration of the renovated spaces.

The ATOMIC recessed downlights are discreetly integrated into the ceilings, providing an efficient and balanced lighting solution that supports the clarity of the interior spaces. Their presence remains visually calm, allowing the architecture and interior design to take centre stage while ensuring comfortable illumination for everyday school activities.

GRAVITY EVOLUTION pendant downlights, installed with three steel suspension cables, add a more visible architectural presence in specific spaces. Their suspended configuration helps define the atmosphere of the areas where they are placed, contributing to the balance between functionality, comfort and spatial identity.

Through this project, ROVASI shows how carefully designed lighting can enhance educational spaces, strengthening their architectural identity, supporting visual comfort and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for the educational community.
